A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

When I started my academic career at Iowa State University, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a journalist. I wanted to give people a voice, a voice that they might not have otherwise. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to write for the campus paper, the Iowa State Daily. Throughout my time at Iowa State, I have written on a wide variety of topics, from breaking down abortion laws in Iowa to discussing the gender and microaggressions that exist within the College of Engineering to writing on the campus and local law enforcement beat.

I am a senior at Iowa State and plan to graduate in May 2024. I am studying journalism and mass communications with a minor in English. I have loved the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, and I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had to become a better journalist and, more importantly, a better person.

Outside of academics, I am also involved in the Cyclone Marching Band program, also known as the ISUCF'V'MB. I was on the leadership team for two of the four years I spent with this program. Being in leadership, I learned a lot about time management and teamwork. The lessons I learned carry over to my academic, work, and social life.

I am excited to continue my education and extracurricular involvement over the next year, as well as continue to make connections with Iowa State faculty and staff. I am so lucky to have a great faculty to learn under. I have learned so much so far, and I cannot wait to continue doing so.

Thank you for reviewing my official journalist portfolio. Also linked in the below section is my resume. Please get in touch to find out more about me and my work.
